Anger in Angerville for Laurens van Hoepen

Press Release by:
Several contacts influenced Laurens van Hoepen's result in the first round of the FIA Karting European Championship in Angerville.

At the Circuit Gabriel Thirouin, in fact, the Ricky Flynn Motorsport driver was not able to express his full potential after a qualification that saw him 8th in the group.

A retirement and a 14th place in the series of heats, combined with 3 top10 results, placed him in P25 on the starting grid of the Final. After an encouraging start in which he had gained as many as 10 positions over the first 5 laps of the race, a rear-end crash caused him to slip to the back of the grid.

Once out of the gravel, van Hoepen did everything possible to set right his Finale, finishing in P18.

Laurens van Hoepen - (FA / Vortex): «It was a very difficult weekend for me. After a qualification that wasn't one of the best, we bet everything on the heats to get back on top. In them, however, I was involved in some accidents that did not allow me to achieve what was in my potential. The same happened in the Final. Fortunately there are still 3 races to demonstrate my worth, besides the fact that this result can be discarded.»

Van Hoepen remained in Angerville for the second round of the WSK Euro Series.
