A technical problem forced Laurens van Hoepen to retire from the Final in Castelletto.

Lady Luck turned her back on Laurens van Hoepen in the last round of the WSK Open Cup at the 7 Laghi Kart in Castelletto di Branduzzo, Italy.

In a weekend spoiled by difficult climatic conditions, the Dutch driver had started off on the right foot by qualifying in 7th place in his group. An equally positive series of heats saw him advance to 6th position in the Manche Merge.

An unfortunate Pre-Final, however, upset van Hoepen's hopes when, called to recover in the Final, he was then forced to retire due to a brake problem, not however attributable to the team.

Laurens van Hoepen, RFM (FA/Vortex): “It's a shame to close a weekend that started well in this way. I worked a lot with the team to get a good result, but unfortunately these things are part of the game. In any case, I very much appreciated the efforts of Jack and the whole Ricky Flynn team to put the best of the best at my disposal.”

Van Hoepen will celebrate the last race this weekend at the Adria Karting Raceway.
