Will Emilien Denner come back to karting for the KZ world championship?

The recent developments of the FIA Karting calendars which, given the Covid-19 emergency, has led to the transfer of the World Championship from the Alain Prost circuit in Le Mans to South Garda Karting in Lonato opens important scenarios for Emilien Denner.

The French driver, who won the KZ2 Super Cup with the CPB Sport team less than 12 months ago on the Brescia track, seems to have received several offers and said he the possibility of returning with one goal - the back to back – is exciting.

Denner, who has left karting after the World Championship last year to devote himself to car racing, already obtaining a victory in the New Zealand TRS F3 series organized by Toyota despite his lack of experience, said he was tempted to return to try the feat in KZ.

“If I think back to the KZ2 Super Cup last year, I still have the chills. From that moment my career has evolved extremely quickly. Just after the change of location for this year's World Championship, I received again a few offers to train and race in the premier class of gearbox karting, the KZ, to prepare the main event in September. Am I tempted? Yes, but I would only do it if I can be in a position to win back-to-back titles.”

Pending the resumption of sports activities, we will closely follow the story, to see if another young man with a lead foot shall join the already rich KZ field.
