Soon to be 15, Ukyo proved mentally and emotionally stronger than circumstances showing some great speed during the whole weekend. The young Japanese star dominated all sessions, from qualifying to heats, from prefinal to final, also stopping fastest lap in both.
Congratulations to Ukyo for honouring his country and the event with such a compelling performance.
This is what Ukyo had to say after his exciting weekend.
“I’m very happy with my good results here, but I must think about all the people who have suffered in Japan and dedicate this win to them. It was not so easy in the slippery conditions, but I still won the pre-final. Then I made a mistake at the beginning of the final, but was able to get back in the lead and win. Thank you to my sponsors, my family, my mechanic and my team Paul Carr Racing.”
