100 Legends Italian Championship: history and on-track fun in Lonato by night

In recent years, historic karting has experienced a true revival, with an ever-growing number of gatherings, events, and races dedicated to karts that marked an important chapter in the sport during the 1990s. The 100 Legends category—created by ACI Karting to keep interest alive in a class that contributed greatly to the popularity of karting—was born from this enthusiasm, with the goal of combining historical recreation with healthy competition, without losing sight of what truly matters: enjoyment.
 

Following the success of the Cremona event, the community continues its journey to promote a category that defined an era of karting, this time within what is arguably the highlight of the season in terms of prestige and atmosphere: the Italian Championship organized by ACI Sport as part of the Trofeo d'Estate di Lonato, held in Lonato del Garda, which features night races - just as was very often the case in the 1990s. The aim is to introduce and showcase these remarkable machines to an ever wider audience, involving both those who lived through those years and those discovering them today. On track in Lonato there are 48 entrants, confirming that the ASN in Italy and the grassroots driver communities are working well in a common direction. Among the entries, standout names evoke a strong sense of history, such as Alessandro Manetti, a former World Champion, and Sandro Marra, an unforgettable protagonist of the 1990s and now a regular presence in this paddock.

The 100 Legends races represent the perfect meeting point between the convivial atmosphere of historic karting gatherings and the excitement of real competition on track.
