The FIA Women in Motorsport Commission and the CIK-FIA have renewed their association for a second season with the objective of rewarding an up and coming young female kart Driver with a funded drive in the 2012 CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy, a low-cost educational formula.
Working in association with the National Sporting Authorities around the globe, 11 young kart racers born between 1997 and 1999 have been selected to take part in a shoot-out in Italy on 2 June. The selection process will incorporate a mix of theory, presentation and driving activities and the Driver deemed to have demonstrated the greatest potential will receive a free entry to the 2012 CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy, along with a kart from the official supplier and free overalls (the prize excludes testing tyres, fuel, service team and damage to the equipment).
The Drivers selected to compete in the evaluation process are:
Name Date of Birth Country
Torey Blanch 21/04/1997 Australia
Mélissa Calvi 13/02/1997 Luxembourg
Nicole Coffey 12/10/1998 Ireland

Olivia Natalie Kűhne 07/05/1999 Portugal

The 2012 CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy takes place over three races, in addition to the official pre-season test session. And, this season, race weekends will also address highly-important issues relating to safety, driving conduct and the anti-doping code.
