Jack Doohan, son of five-time MotoGP World Champion Mick Doohan, will make his championship debut in one of Australia’s biggest karting events in Geelong, Victoria this weekend.
Nine year-old Doohan will be competing in the Cadets category against 25 other youngsters aged between 7 and 11 years old from various parts of the country.
In total, there will be a more than 330 drivers competing across 14 categories at the Victorian Championships which is being hosted by the Geelong Karting Club at its Beckley Park Complex.
Practice has been held yesterday and today ahead of qualifying tomorrow with racing continuing on Saturday. The event will be highlighted by the championship finals on Sunday.

WHAT: 2012 Victorian Open Karting Championships
Championship kart racing where drivers aged from seven to more than 50 years of age will be competing at speeds in excess of 100 km/h in their quest to become state karting champion in their respective category.
