Gabriel Bortoleto: «My last year in KZ2 was fundamental, after F4 I'm now aiming at F.Regional with DR!»

The former CRG ace continues his climb in the main categories of international motor racing. Bortoleto has just come back from a great first year in single seaters with the Prema team where, in Formula 4, he managed to get his first satisfactions by excelling among pole positions, podiums and a great victory. These are all elements that, if you think back to Bortoleto's history in karting, leave little doubt about the great talent of the Brazilian, twice among the best in Europe and the World in his karting years.

Precisely karting, according to Bortoleto, was important to adapt immediately to Formula, especially the last experiences in KZ2. Gabriel Bortoleto has just been made official by Danilo Rossi's DR Formula as a new debutant in the Formula 3 Regional by Alpine, a new addition to the young green-golden driver's career.

- Gabriel, how was your first year in F4 and what results did you get?
«It was a positive year, I got good results and learned a lot. I managed to win a race, I did a lot of podiums, some pole positions... I have to say it was a year I will remember and it will serve me well to go on and do even better in this new adventure of Formula 3!»

- When was your last year in karting between OK and KZ2 useful to prepare for F4?
«It was very important, mainly in those experiences in KZ2. That's when I did some practice in starts, I practiced with the gearbox... when you go to single-seater these things are the base and so it's important to arrive ready. I'm glad I did it when I look back».

- This year you'll be racing in F.Regional. Have you already tested it? How do you feel about working with Danilo?
«Yes I have already tested the new car once but I am going back to Italy to get back to work. It's a nice car, there seems to be a lot more downforce than in Formula 4, it's starting to be more challenging and faster. Working with Danilo is fantastic, he is very good, a person with a lot of experience and having been a driver he understands our feelings, his results when he was racing confirm that. I want to do well with his team and I can't wait to start the season!»
