Taylor Barnard: «It's been a competitive season, for 2021 I'm aiming at F4 and beyond»

- Interview
British talent, Taylor Barnard, filed a very competitive 2020 that also saw him make his F4 debut in preparation for the new season!

Wearing Nico Rosberg colours, Taylor Barnard has emerged in recent seasons as one of the best talents in British and international karting. In the 2020s, Barnard has proven he deserves the trust of the 2016 F1 World Champion with convincing results. The Englishman came very close to winning the European Championship by just one point, the same fate for the World Championship where he was the favourite, given the weather conditions which were more British than Portuguese, but various unfavourable factors prevented him from repeating the success of Travisanutto a few years ago.

Barnard, during the season has then become familiar with the KZ participating in the World Championship of Lonato and later, has also crossed the borders going to debut in F4. First experiences that, presumably, should be the future of the English driver but that, in any case, does not close the doors to karting.

- Taylor, how can you assess your 2020 season?
«Overall a good season missing out on the European Championship by 1 point and as we head in the the World Championship we dominated all weekend but in the final there was a small issue and we couldn’t finish the job».

- We saw that you made your F4 debut. Did you have a hard time getting used to it or did you immediately understand the new category?
«My F4 debut was difficult but very fun it’s really challenging and amazing to drive it didn’t take me long to get used to the car but with all of the setup changes and weather conditions changing all the time it was a challenge».

- Do you think we will still be forced to postpone our races for COVID this year?
«I hope this year will be more normal then 2020 and we can get back racing again!»

- What are your plans for 2021? Karting or F4?
«Hopefully formula 4 but have a few options open to us and maybe some karting in between».
