After two rounds, FIA Regional Cup Brazil has known 14 of its 32 drivers who will contest the championship title on August 24th-25th, at Kartódromo Emerson Fittipaldi, Imperatriz, Maranhão. From these competitors, 7 are OK FIA finalists and other 7 are for OK Junior FIA. Each champion will earn an entry – and equipments – for 2025’ FIA Karting World Championship, in Sweden.
The Regional Cup Brazil kicks off was on March 29th, at Kartódromo Granja Viana, Cotia, São Paulo. With four places for the finals in OK FIA and OK Junior FIA classes, only eight drivers were there – four for each one. It means that all drivers guaranteed their spots, in a race with almost no fight for positions.
The second round took its place on April 19th, at Kartódromo Ayrton Senna, Guara, Federal District of Brazil. With three finals spots in contest in each class, the number of entries was lower than expected: three in OK FIA and five in OK Junior FIA. In that way, all experienced drivers will dispute the title on August, while two contenders from junior were eliminated for the battle.
Now, the brazilian competition has more three playoffs scheduled for this season, with 18 places – nine for each class – for the finals. The next round will be in Penha, Santa Catarina, at Kartódromo Beto Carrero, on June 7th.
On the same month, but day 21, the drivers will be at Circuito Internacional Techspeed, Nova Santa Rita, Rio Grande do Sul. And the last OK FIA and OK Junior FIA round take its place on August 23th.
