Hot summer at Sarno for the third round of the FIA European Championship

- Races
Things are heating up for the showdown at Sarno, the penultimate round of the FIA European Championship for the OK and OKJ classes.

It will be a guaranteed spectacle what we are going to live on the International Circuit of Naples from Friday with the last free practice before the official qualifying. High temperatures are expected, not only because of the classic July weather, but above all because of the atmosphere in the FIA paddock.

OK
For the Senior category, all eyes will be on Andrea Kimi Antonelli who will be playing at home compared to the competition, strong after his last great show of strength at Essay. The driver from Bologna is only 18 points away from the top, currently occupied by his partner Rafael Camara, the man to beat, followed by Arvid Lindblad, currently second in the general classification. A tight battle between the three protagonists, without forgetting the luxury outsiders such as Artem Severiukhin and Juho Valtanen currently in the top five overall.

OKJ
The mistake of the French weekend has not erased the dreams and hopes of Freddie Slater, who is still ahead of everyone thanks to two authoritative races which, without the 10sec penalty for not respecting the slow regime, would already be worth a serious mortgage on the title. With 50 points, the reigning World Champion leads the group, keeping Matheus Ferreira, the great promise of this 2021 and once again in the running for success thanks to his latest victory, at a distance. Ean Eyckmans is also close behind, tied with Alex Powell, with Kirill Kutsov in the top five.

The race programme will officially start on Friday 9 July with qualifying, heats on the 10th and the finals on Sunday 11 July, which can be streamed on fiakarting.com.

Updates from the circuit will follow.
