PARMA, 20th January 2010. The 21st edition of the Andrea Margutti Trophy – from 19th to 21st March 2010 at the “7 Laghi Circuit” in Castelletto di Branduzzo (Pavia – Italy), was successfully presented at the recent Kart and Race Exhibition at Montichiari. The special testimonial for the race was Andrea Bertolini, the three times FIA GT World Champion with Maserati, client car and F1 simulator tester for Ferrari.
Bertolini himself – who was present at the Exhibition as new karting constructor too, with the new brand “Formula K” – pointed out the importance of the “Andrea Margutti Trophy” and the remarkable position it gained among the international competitions.
“The Margutti Trophy – he said
– is such an important event for me that I couldn’t help accepting the invitation of the Pellegrini family to be the guest star and testimonial for the race. It brings back to my mind important moments, when I used to race in karting. Besides, I was there when Andrea Margutti had his accident. I was about to get on the track. I was in the pit lane right behind Striani when the two came in contact. I saw everything and that’s something which is always in my mind. After the accident, the Margutti family showed great strength and started to organize this Trophy, which has grown year after year, becoming the equivalent of a world championship and winning this race is still very important for a driver’s career. I was very pleased when the Pellegrini family asked me to be part of the project, also because it is an appointment I’ve always followed. The commitment of Andrea’s family is an example for all the world of motor racing, at international level.”This year too, there are first-rate teams taking part in the competition. Birel, MGM, Formula K, Comer, Intrepid, World Racing, CRG Holland, Tony Kart Junior Team are going to participate.
