The “April” weather came early to Wackersdorf for the first edition of the Rotax MAX Challenge series over the weekend, but it didn’t stop more than 160 drivers from getting out on track. Saturday saw everything thrown at them by the weather gods, but the RMC Germany and RMC Cup Series competitors were back again Sunday – albeit minus one hour in the switch to Daylight Saving Time, to go racing in the rain. This weekend in Germany, the opening round of the Rotax MAX Challenge national championship combines with the RMC Cup Series to successfully launch the 2023 season with record entries. Around 170 competitors entered for the first of four events on the German RMC series calendar at one of Europe’s favourite karting circuits, Prokart Raceland, Wackersdorf.

Racing got underway for the weekend at the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy Winter Cup with 22 qualifying heats filling the program Saturday, resulting in 12 different winners. Two drivers achieved a hat trick to lead at the chequered flag each race after taking pole position in their respective Rotax categories: Jacob Ashcroft (Mini MAX) and Tereza Babickova (DD2).

This is just a summary of the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals, now at its 18th edition and still continues to grow.
