CIK-FIA World Cup for KZ1, Genk (B), 3-9-2011
Davide Forè, surely one of the most well-known drivers around, is back on top ruling both in qualifying practice and in the heats. For far too long, the Italian driver has been out of the top but deservedly he’s back upfront in the World Cup for KZ1, the most important event of the season.

This time Forè, supported by very performing equipment, put all his experience at work to keep the lead for the prefinal. Next to the 5-time World Champion on starting grid, 2009 World Champion Arnaud Kozlinski on Crg – like Forè – powered by a in-house tuned Maxter. The French champion has been just as fast, but the Crg duo will be challenged by local driver Rick Dreezen, third in qualifying and after the heats. Next on second row for prefinal start, Dutch lady driver Visser. 3-time World Cup winner Jonathan Thonon is not brilliant already from qualifying, stopping only 12thfastest time, but his main rival Bas Lammers did even worst, with 19thfastest.
Reigning European KZ1 Champion Paolo De Conto is in row 4 with Marco Ardigò, followed by De Brabander, Convers and Abbasse.
Genk Circuit is a very tough gig and overtaking is not so easy. Drivers have to make the difference, and so far, at least by looking at the laptimes, there hasn’t been much difference among the protagonists, with almost 40 drivers all within 1”. But rain – weather forecasts speak of a wet Sunday - might mix the values on track.
