Once upon a time there was a small workshop that now has become very big…
Sodikart adventure began in 1981 in Nantes - western France - with a spare part warehouse and a workshop for engine preparation. The first national titles came in 1982, a kart circuit was inaugurated in 1986 and the partnership with Rotax started in 1988. The first important turning point came in 1991, with the creation of the first Sodi karts and the establishment of the first factory. At the same time, an equipment and accessory make (Itaka) was launched, together with its mail-order selling catalogue. Already in 1993, Sodikart won the World FA Championship with David Terrien and became World Constructors’ Champion thanks to its revolutionary chassis «Futura». Another important turning point came in 1998, with the establishment of a new factory, the largest and most modern in the world, covering a surface of over 10,000 m². Sodikart established its «Events» department and made its debut in the organisation of the Challenge Rotax France in 1999, the same year its equipment make Box’s was launched.
After a few years break to focus on company development, Sodikart returned to high-level competition in 2004 and conquered straight away the title of world vice champion with Arnaud Kozlinski, as well as the Team World Cup.
Sodi chassis replicated their extraordinary success in 2005, with another world vice champion title. On that same year, the Bridgestone Cup was established on the occasion of France F1 Grand Prix in Magny-Cours. In 2009 a new concept was launched, that of the Sodi W Series (SWS), in addition to the creation of the Sodi Racing Team with Swiss Nicola de Cola in charge. In 2010, Sodi chassis achieved over 750 victories - all events considered - all over the world, and Sodi became Official partner of Rotax Grand Final. 3MKEvents now manages all Sodikart organisational activities. 2011 has been the year of the creation of an accessory make, Tekneex, of the «TTT by Tekneex» technology for chassis manufacturing, of the second year of official partnership with Rotax World Final (now it is for the Senior category) and of the recent presentation of the first electrical racing kart manufactured in series, the STX, for the Bercy Kart Masters, to be held in Paris in late 2011 with the biggest world stars in car racing and the best young kart drivers..."
