This is a terrific shot. None other than 1980 World Champion Peter de Bruijn back on kart. Whether he’s testing his own Maddox kart, having a bit of fun, or in preparation of the World Cup for KZ1 later on in early September on the Belgian circuit of Genk we don’t know, but Mirjam Van Delft has certainly hit the jackpot with this exclusive picture...

"It's a Maddox Kart equipped with Parilla X30 engine by Iame - says the former World Champion. - We were building up the kart at the workshop/store in my racing team store in Vlaardingen and decided to make it ready to try it myself. I already tried the engine last Saturday at Genk (karting GENK) in Belgium. It was pretty busy but I did a good job with it :)."

Peter admits it's a lot different than in the old days but it's great fun to race again. "I am positive we will be on our way to a karting circuit again with my own gear on soon" said Peter with a grin on his face.
