Flavio Camponeschi, the Italian FaKart driver of Morsicani Team 3rd at the 2007 World Cup for KF2, is this year’s free Formula BMW Licence Course winner. The free licence course selection, sponsored by Formula BMW Germany in collaboration with Vroom was organized at Round 5 of the Open Masters held on 22nd July in Val Vibrata (I). Flavio, who flew to Valencia on 8-9th August to drive the FB02, said the experience was unique: ‘This is the first time I drive a Formula car, and I must say it was very exciting. To start with we had an induction where FBMW instructors explained the basics of driving the FB02, and then we started practising the various techniques. The most difficult thing for me was the hill-toe technique, but they were really patient and supportive, so I got it in the end. The facilities were really impressive, and organization was nothing short of BMW excellent standards. I want to thank Vroom for organizing the selection, and Formula BMW for this great opportunity.’
Formula BMW people, impressed by Flavio’s performance, invited him to the Scholarship Qualifying Course, which grants a bourse of € 75,000.00 to the best four participants born between 1990 and 1992 for Formula BMW Europe 2008. We’ll keep an eye on him...
