Maddox driver Ryan Van Der Burgt was protagonist of a strong performance at the first round of the WSK Euro Series held in Sarno (I) on 13th March. After a tricky start of the weekend, Van De Burgt completed his masterpiece by taking his maiden KZ2 win after trading places with the masters of the gearbox category.

The Dutch driver started the weekend with a promising 27th overall fastest time in the KZ1-KZ2 joint field, stopping the 8th fastest time of the KZ2 field.
On Saturday, the program went on with the qualifying heats, where Ryan had to retire after one lap in heat 1 and after 7 laps in heat 2. These results prevented him from having access to Saturday’s final, forcing the Maddox driver to focus on Sunday racing.

Heat one saw him finish 13th (3rd of KZ2 drivers), while heat two promoted him to 7th (1st of KZ2 drivers) on a wet track. Sunday’s final was held in wet conditions, but Van Der Burgt completed his masterpiece by taking his maiden KZ2 win (5th of the KZ1-KZ2 joint field) after trading places with the masters of the gearbox category, also stopping the fastest lap among KZ2 drivers (1:25.775). In the championship standings, Van De Burgt leads with 50 points.
A very promising start for Maddox Racing team and its Dutch star.
