16th Winter Cup - Lonato (Italy) - 11-12-13 February 2011
Now at its 16th edition, the classic event that opens the international karting season broke its record with 260 entries in three categories.

At his debut in KZ2, 2010 World Champion Nick De Vries will be one of the protagonists in the gearbox class, but he will have to fight against the very top drivers in the world such as Jonathan Thonon (CRG), Alessandro Piccini (Tony Kart) and his teammate Marco Ardigò (Tony Kart), Sauro Cesetti (Birel) CRG duo Arnaud Kozlinski and Davide Forè.
Despite having already announced that he will start testing formula cars by the end of the season, the young Dutch champion has taken his experience in the new category very seriously. In fact Nyck has been testing with KZ for the past month or so, and he will surely give everything he’s got to try to win also in the gearbox class.

“I just turned 16 on 6th February -
De Vries said - and by the end of the year I will begin to test with
formula cars. I approach this race with great interest as the KZ2 category is pretty new to me, but I really like it. I still have some problems with traction control, I hope anyway to improve for the race. KZ this year is the most important category, with the presence of so many champions, and I really want to compete with drivers with great experience. I will continue the season in KF1, I will race the CIK-FIA World Championship, WSK Euro Series and other international events of the WSK, where I hope to win again and score some good results.”
