Rotax E10 E Kart receives CIK-FIA approval

BRP-Rotax is proud to announce that the Rotax E10 electric power unit has received CIK-FIA Approval, marking another important milestone in the continued development of the Rotax E-Kart programme.

The approval represents significant international recognition for the innovative E10 platform. For the CIK-FIA Karting, the approval of electric power units places particular importance on meeting the required technical standards, including essential safety requirements. Receiving this authorisation therefore underlines the extensive development and engineering behind the Rotax E10 and further strengthens its position within the evolving world of electric karting.

One Approved Power Unit, New Possibilities
The CIK-FIA Approval of the Rotax E10 applies to the power unit itself, creating new possibilities for its use across different karting categories. This flexibility is a key advantage of the Rotax E10 concept, which has been designed to support young drivers at different stages of their racing journey.
The Rotax E10 can be configured for Bambini and Mini competition, with one battery used for the Bambini configuration and two batteries powering the Mini. This approach allows the same E10 platform to be adapted to the requirements of different age groups and classes, providing a structured pathway for young drivers as they progress in karting.
Now having CIK-FIA Approval for the E10 power unit, which has transitioned to serial production, BRP-Rotax has a strong foundation for the further development and implementation of electric karting categories within the international karting landscape and the global Rotax network.

Expanding the Rotax E-Kart Programme
The latest approval also represents another important step in BRP-Rotax's wider E-Kart strategy. Following the CIK-FIA Approval of the Rotax E20 electric powertrain, the E10 now extends the company's internationally recognised electric technology to the youngest generations of racers.
Together, the E10 and E20 demonstrate BRP-Rotax's continued commitment to developing innovative, competitive and reliable electric racing solutions. While the E20 has established electric karting at a higher level of competition, the E10 creates opportunities for young talents to experience electric racing from the beginning of their karting journey.

"Receiving CIK-FIA Approval for the Rotax E10 is an important acknowledgment of the work and development behind our E-Kart technology” said Peter Ölsinger, GM BRP-Rotax / Member of the Management Board, VP Sales, Marketing RPS-Business & Communications. “Safety is an essential consideration in the development of our electric power units and this approval further underlines our commitment to developing innovative and competitive electric racing solutions, and creates new opportunities to introduce the next generation of drivers to electric karting."

The Rotax E10 is already gaining momentum around the world, with test days and race events taking place across a number of Rotax MAX Challenge series. Later this year, another milestone will be reached when the E10 makes its debut as an official category at the RMC Grand Finals in Portimão, Portugal from 7–14 November.
