With racing underway now after Friday’s qualifying set the grids for almost 200 competitors lining up this time around in the city of steel, the heavens are warning with the odd sprinkle of rain, that the afternoon’s heat racing may be in the wet. At the front of the field, the UK secured the top spot in three categories: Riley Murro for Sam Pollitt Racing-KR in Rotax Mini MAX, while teammates Jacob Ashcroft in Junior MAX and Macauley Bishop in Senior MAX took pole for Dan Holland Racing-LN. Hungary’s champion Bende Szabo (Birelart by KSB-Birelart) posted best lap in the 2-speed DD2 class and the reigning RMC Grand Finals title-holder Xen De Ruwe, making his debut in 2025 in Masters, was only a fraction off the round 1 winner as the quickest in the over 32 class (P3 overall).
