Anagnostiadis and Baglin triumph in Campillos: what a shame for Martinese!

Sunday kicked off with wins for Thibaut Ramaekers (BEL) and James Anagnostiadis (AUS), with the latter benefiting from a crash that took out early race favorites Craigie and Chiara Battig. Craigie was disqualified for causing the incident, while Battig was forced to retire trackside. Pole-sitter Ramaekers led early but was quickly overtaken by fellow Belgian Dries Van Langendonck. Then came Anagnostiadis’s charge—despite this being his rookie season in the OK category, the 2024 Junior Vice World Champion carved through the field with surgical precision, ultimately crossing the line first in a thrilling finale.
Martinese delivered the most impressive comeback of the race, storming from P14 to P2 and clocking the fastest lap—only to be cruelly sidelined by a puncture in the final laps. Van Langendonck held off Sala for second, but another twist saw Sala handed a five-second penalty for a misaligned front fairing, dropping him to 10th.
This promoted Spain’s Christian Costoya—who started 10th—to the podium, followed by Ramaekers and a blazing-fast Chiara Battig (SUI), who clocked the second-best lap of the race in a strong recovery after her Super Heat misfortune. Rounding out the top 10: Lyzen (POL), Kelleher (IRL), Pradier (FRA), Cochet (FRA), and Kinmark (SWE). A tough day for Zac Drummond (GBR), who was among the most disappointed at the finish.

OK-Junior: Baglin dominates from lights to flag
In OK-Junior, Noah Baglin (GBR) was simply untouchable. Starting from the outside of the front row, the Prema Racing driver seized the lead early as teammate Dean Hoogendoorn (NED) slipped to fifth after a slow getaway. Baglin immediately built a gap of over a second, while Spain’s Bosco Arias did his best to hold on for the home crowd.
Hoogendoorn fought his way back to second, but in the final lap it was Australia’s William Calleja who snatched third from Arias in a last-gasp move.
Canada’s Ilie Crisan impressed with a charge from P15 to sixth, just behind a consistent Henry Domain (GBR). Completing the top ten were Devin Walz (USA), Iskender Zulfikari (TUR), Will Green (GBR), and Luka Scelles (FRA).
