Inside Brazilian karting competitions
To compete in kart racing in Brazil requires a good financial and logistic plan. This because, this country that occupies almost half about South America’s territory, exist many championships running at the same time – since those promoted by drivers associations to those organized by the Brazilian racing car entity (Confederação Brasileira de Automobilismo, a.k.a. CBA).
Therefore, this article brings to you a little bit about these CBA’s events at this moment. The reason? It’s because they are with more entries all years and reveals new talented drivers to the world.

The Brazilian kart particularities
Before to continues with it, we need to explain about how the Brazilian karting competitions works. Unlike other countries, the fields with high number of drivers are from classes that uses 4-stroke engines, like GX360 and GX390, manufactureds by Honda.
Even with these engines are not created for racing, its versality allows this adaptation for the karting races and that some people to become a racing drivers, who can subcribe in one of nine classes that use these 4-stroke engines.
Although, this reality is changing. CBA has upgraded 2025’s rules, especially about 2-stroke engines, replacing the old KTT 125cc for Vortex 60cc in Mini series, and the Iame MY for the OK-N and Iame X30 – all of them newer and with more durability. With it, the entity wants to make Brazilian championships closer than the main championships around the world.
After this explanation, let’s go to know the main karting competitions in Brazil!

Brazilian Championship
Going for its 60th season, this is the biggest event in Brazil. Due its big entry list – only in 2024, more than 300 drivers were in the competition –, it’s divided in two groups. At the first one, will be those 2-stroke’s classes, including Shifter/KS. At the Group 2, it’s the 4-stroke classes time.
This year, 25 classes – 16 at the Group 1 and nine in Group 2 – will be at Beto Carrero’s Kart Circuit, in the state of Santa Catarina, in southern Brazil. The classes with fasters engines go to the track between November 20th-22th, while the stationary engines classes take these spot on November 27th-29th.

Brazil Cup
The Brazil Cup completes its 26th edition this year and is the second competition in Brazilian in number of drivers. As in the Brazilian Championship, this event splits its karting drivers into two groups. However, there are three differences compared to that main competition in the country.
The first one, is the number of classes: 20 in total. The second difference is in its division, with 10 classes in each group. And the last one is their distribution. At the Group 1, most drivers races with 4-stroke engines, but there are those who drive 2-stroke engines. At the Group 2, it's the opposite.
This edition takes place at Emerson Fittipaldi’s Kart Circuit, in the state of Sergipe, in northeast Brazil. The first group goes to the track on July 23th-26th, and the second group closes the competition between July 30th and August 2nd.

Regional Cup Brazil
In it’s 2nd edition, Regional Cup Brazil selects the drivers who will represent Brazil in the CIK-FIA Karting World Championship, at OK FIA and OK Junior FIA classes, in the OK-N FIA Karting World Cup and in the 2025’s ROK SuperFinals (Mini).
Composed of five playoffs’ rounds this year, there will be selected 16 drivers for the finals at the OK FIA and OK Junior FIA classes. The drivers of class Mini will race four qualifiers rounds, selecting those 12 drivers who will try the chance to represent Brazil in the ROK Superfinal.
For the FIA OK-N World Cup, the contenders will be those competitors who conclude the OK FIA's final race race between 2nd and 9th positions.
All final rounds of Regional Cup Brazil will occur on August 25th, in state of Maranhão, in northeast region. The prize for the champions includes the fee, chassis, engine and one tires set for their champions, and will sign to CBA's Drivers Academy.
