2025-2027 CRG Homologation

Columns: Close Up
“A winning team can't be touched” could be the perfect summary of CRG's approach to the new 2025-2027 chassis homologation, but by thoroughly analyzing the details of the new chassis for the next three years, it is possible to verify how, instead, that the innovations are there and they make a difference.

Karting has changed a lot in recent years and, having archived the experimental chassis made with unusual shapes and materials, the big companies focus on refining their products by decanting all the experiences of the racing departments directly onto production. CRG has therefore confirmed its trust in the already well-known KT2, KT4, KT5 and Road Rebel, while still making those very important optimizations that have allowed the Brescia-based company to play a leading role in national and international competitions. More important novelties, however, concern fairings and some accessories such as braking systems. For the MINI categories, the homologation of the Hero model has not been renewed, so only the Black Mirror chassis (homologated as T-Group) will be available for all championships and Trophies where International homologation of the chassis is required.

New fairings and braking systems
All CRG chassis in the Racing range from 2025 will adopt the new fairings called 507/509 that replace the previous 507/508 (which will retain homologation and can be used). The new fairings ensure greater aerodynamic efficiency and cooling of accessories (radiator, brakes), as well as featuring new graphics that maintain the classic CRG livery with black and red flou colors. Also confirmed is the homologation for the VEN 11 braking system (new abbreviation from January 1, 2025 - VEN 11b) with the possibility of adopting two different brake discs: the usual 192mm and a smaller one to reduce masses of 180mm. Totally new, on the other hand, is the VEN 13 system with the innovative modulated braking system, which after some technical developments by the CRG racing department and in-house technical department is a reliable and effective option, both in DD (direct drive) and KZ versions. A new steering wheel offering increased grip will also be available as an option.

CRG chassis with 2025-2027 homologation
KT2: made with 30mm chromium molybdenum steel tubes, it is suitable for direct drive categories, both International (OK - OKJ) and for the main single-brand Trophies such as Rotax, Iame X30 and Rok: it easily matches all types of tires (option and prime) with an excellent driving feeling and sensitivity in adjustments. There is no shortage of magnesium accessories, VEN 11b brake system and the new 507/509 fairings. Mounting the front brakes, gearshift and clutch kit, the KT2 lends itself to use in KZ should you be looking for a softer and smoother chassis than the usual 32mm on tracks with lots of grip.

KT4: made with 30mm and 32mm chrome molybdenum steel tubes, it features special geometries in the central part of the tank. It offers excellent lateral grip and is halfway between the classic 30mm and 32mm frames, proving decisive on slippery and poorly rubberized tracks. Created for single-gear categories, it can also be used in KZ categories. Accessories are top of the range and include magnesium wheels and accessories, VEN 11b braking system and the new 507/509 fairings.

KT5: made with 30mm chromium molybdenum steel tubes combined with a 32mm tube at the front end in the part between the two “C ”s of the spindles that make it very precise to the front, ideal for those drivers who appreciate this peculiarity. Accessories are top of the line and include magnesium wheels and accessories, VEN 11b brake system and the new 507/509 fairings.  KT5 can also be used in KZ categories.

Road Rebel: made of 32mm chromium molybdenum steel, the multi-titled Road Rebel is ideal for the Shifter categories, both International (KZ - KZ2) and the gearbox categories of the main single-brand Trophies such as Rotax, Iame X30 and Rok. Its strengths are braking, traction and lateral grip. This same chassis, in the winter season and in all cases where grip is sought or more ease in getting the tires into the operating “window,” can also be successfully used with direct drive engines by requiring the DD setup, which does not include front brakes and the clutch-shift levers. Accessories are top of the line and include magnesium wheels and accessories, VEN 11b brake system and the new 507/509 fairings.

Black Mirror: made with 28mm chrome molybdenum steel tubes and is FIA homologated for all MINI classes and single-brands (Rotax, Iame and Rok). Its strong point is the excellent balance with standard set up, which consuete to guys even with little experience to immediately find a great feeling with any type of tire and on all tracks. The equipment is of high quality and includes magnesium rims and the VEN 12 hydraulic brake system.

CRG by Sparco clothing
The new MK6 line of technical clothing for the driver and team staff is produced in collaboration with Sparco and was presented with great success at the FIA 2024 World Championships. The strong points are the fit and, of course, the design. The pilot line is completed with shoes, gloves and all accessories. Also available are the new down jacket for low winter temperatures, the new Softshell, as well as the new range of T-shirts, sweatshirts and pants.
