A parking lot at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway will host the annual event for the third time in its 27 editions, welcoming drivers from around the world to Las Vegas, Nevada, from November 13-17. This year, the race will be held on a track layout chosen through a poll among karting enthusiasts, who had hundreds of potential tracks to select from.
In the USA, democracy comes first, like it or not. This year, the organizers of the world’s most popular karting event—alongside the Rotax Grand Finals and (perhaps) the FIA World Championship—decided that the layout of the street circuit (essentially constructed in a parking lot) would be chosen by the drivers themselves via an online survey. They had hundreds of possible layouts that could fit within the available space. The final voting narrowed it down to four finalists, including the French circuit Salbris, the Canadian Mont-Tremblant, and two layouts from previous editions of the SuperNats.

The 2024 edition is expected to be one of the largest in the event’s history, with several categories already sold out and total registrations exceeding 500 entries. The prize package, featuring over $37,000 in cash and an additional $7,000 in awards, rounds out the details for a race that, like many U.S. competitions, is best described as unique.
Superkarts! USA has assembled a cash prize for five of the nine categories at SKUSA SuperNationals 27. The Pro Shifter (KZ) category will once again be the highlight of the event, featuring a $15,000 purse that includes an enticing $10,000 for the winner.
An event marking the close of the season, the SuperNats (now in its 27th edition) has gained increasing media coverage—and of course, social media buzz—thanks to the efforts of the organizer, SKUSA, which since the 1990s has become a major player in American karting. Thanks to the participation of VIP drivers, both current stars with prestigious teams and, in recent years, former F1 drivers (including Michael Schumacher and Max Verstappen, who raced here in KZ), the event’s popularity has skyrocketed. For many, racing here has become one of those “once-in-a-lifetime” experiences.

This year, world karting legend and multi-time world champion Davide Forè (Italkart Factory Racing Team) will be back on the starting grid in an action-packed KZ category with no less than 50 drivers. Forè is not the only world karting champion competing, as two other champions will make their Master Shifter debut. Bas Lammers (Italkart Factory Racing Team) returns to the SuperNationals for the first time since 2017. The Dutch driver won the 2009 SuperNationals in KZ, earning six podiums over seven appearances, along with world titles in KZ in 2010 and 2012. The third world champion in the field is Patrik Hajek (Rolison Performance Group). The 2018 winner, Hajek, has extensive experience at the SuperNationals, with three podiums in five KZ races from 2011 to 2015 and a best finish as runner-up in his last appearance.
Track activities begin on Wednesday—Vroom will be covering the event in collaboration with our friends at ekartingnews.com—stay tuned.
