In the lat few days, images of lad-and-dad Raikkonens at the Rotax Grand Finals in Sarno have been everywhere on social media. Kimi has confirmed that, for now, having fun is the main goal, as for the future, who knows...
Between the two, Robin always seemed the more focused and tense during the challenging week of racing in Sarno, which marked his first experience at the RMCGF. "We had some tense moments during the heats, especially when he was pushed off; he didn’t take it well, and the weekend had its ups and downs. But in the end, Robin was happy with how the Final went, where he made a great comeback." (By the end of the race, and after some penalties were handed to other drivers, Robin Raikkonen finished 5th, an impressive result considering he started 22nd due to a contact in the Prefinal.)

It was the Raikkonens' first time in a Grand Final, where Robin competed with the number 27 in the Micro Max. Robin won the Swiss Championship in this class, and therefore, though Finnish, he represented the Swiss team. When asked about the future, Kimi said there are no concrete plans yet: "We’re looking at some options for next year, but nothing’s decided. For now, what matters is that he enjoys himself and is happy. If he’s happy, then I’m happy too, so as long as he wants to drive, we’ll keep going."
The family’s move to northern Italy will likely allow Robin to compete in one of the key regions for kart racing. So, for now, it’s very probable that Robin will participate in the Championships in this area. When asked about the move, Kimi was, as always, straightforward: "I’d have been fine staying home, but this is his wish for now, and I’m happy to make it possible. We’re having fun on the track together, and for now, that’s all that matters."
