Over the years, the series has grown significantly, with an impressive 205 entrants in the Rotax class for the 2024 season. This year, the championship features five rounds and welcomes competitors from around the globe, including Poland, Latvia, the Czech Republic, Japan, Australia, and the UAE. This international participation not only raises the level of competition but also fuels the drivers' ambition to secure a ticket to the Rotax Grand Finals—the ultimate global showdown for Rotax racers.

Organised by Motorsport UK, the championship ensures that only top-tier circuits are selected for the competition. Tracks like Paul Fletcher International and Warden Law have become fixtures on the calendar, with Warden Law also set to host the 2024 Rotax Grand Festival, further cementing its prestige within the karting community.


Among the various classes, the MiniMax 950 stands out as a crucial development category for younger drivers. Targeting racers aged 10-13, this class features 125cc restricted water-cooled 2-stroke engines and Mojo tyres, providing an ideal environment for budding talent to hone their skills. While the MiniMax class primarily serves as a learning ground, it also highlights early on which names in the sport are likely to become future stars. Notable drivers like Albert Friend, who clinched the championship title a round early and has already competed in the Rotax Grand Finals multiple times before turning 11, exemplify the immense potential nurtured within this category.

The Rotax British Championship also offers a unique feature that sets it apart from other karting competitions in the UK—the FIA International Karting Ranking System. This system allows drivers to see how they measure up against their international peers, even if they don't compete directly against them. After each round, the points scored contribute to their international ranking, adding an extra layer of excitement and motivation for the competitors. It’s common to hear drivers, especially in the Junior category, discussing their ranking as they strive to climb the global ladder.


Beyond being a breeding ground for talent, the championship is also a valuable commercial asset. Sponsors are keen to associate themselves with the prestige and visibility of the series. Wera Tools, a key sponsor, has renewed its partnership with the championship multiple times, reflecting a shared philosophy of continuous improvement and dedication. Wera's belief that no tool ever reaches its full stage of development mirrors the ethos of the championship itself, which continues to grow, attract new sponsors, and retain the involvement of world-renowned athletes like Kai Hunter and Callum Bradshaw.
