BNL Karting Series: It’s all about to Kick Off at Karting Genk

Columns: Races
This weekend the lights will go out for the racing action to begin at the annual BNL Karting Series Kick-Off hosted by the Belgian circuit of Karting Genk ‘Home of Champions’ on March 23-24. With the BNL four-round series opener on the horizon next month at the technical 1,360-metre track, it offers the ideal opportunity for competitors to be best prepared for the championship.

Six Rotax classes make up the weekend program at the BNL Karting Series Kick-Off: Rotax Mini MAX Rookie, Rotax Mini MAX, Rotax Junior MAX, Rotax Senior MAX, Rotax DD2 and Rotax DD2 Masters. History tells us that the winners of this event are often the competitors we will see ranked high in the results of the RMC racing during the months that follow and most likely in the BNL title battle. After last year’s introduction of the Mini MAX Rookie category, the youngest drivers still have the chance to be part of the line-up and gain the added experience of racing within the Mini MAX field.

The champions will take home a full-season entry to the 2024 BNL Karting Series which starts at the same venue in the Limburg region of Belgium the first weekend in April. The BNL championship, now in its 17th year, is considered one of the leading Rotax Racing zone series in Europe – and being just across the channel from the UK means there is always strong field of British drivers on the competitive international grid. A total of five Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals tickets to the end-of-season showdown in Sarno, Italy, this October are up for the taking in every category (except Mini MAX Rookie) for the overall champions in the series that runs from April through to September.

With everything in place to deliver an exciting two days of competition, the teams are already on track for the initial testing. However, the weather forecast is promising rain showers and cool temperatures across the weekend, so we can look forward to an interesting, action-packed meeting in Belgium. Follow all the sessions on track via the live timing and tune in to watch the livestream coverage for the Heat racing on Saturday and the Super Heats plus Finals on Sunday.
