Many candidates for the FIA Karting World Championship - OK & Junior

- Close Up
The time has come for the most important weekend of the year for the single-speed categories. After the many test races on the Franciacorta track, the titles that count will be awarded on Sunday. There is also great anticipation for the first edition of the OK-N World Cup (fm)

Identifying even just a group of favorites is more complex than ever at the end of a season, which in its infinite calendar of FIA commitments and beyond, has pitted these drivers against each other so many times as to make a bet almost impossible certain.
In OK there is clearly a lot of expectation on the European Champion Lammers, fresh from the Ferrari Driver Academy experience, but the list of potential Wolrd Champions is long, starting from the KR Racing team, as always well equipped in OK and OKJ, which this year could achieve a historic double after the KZ World Championship in Wackersdorf, through one of the various Enzo Tarnvanichkul, Nakamura Berta (already World Champions in Junior in 2021) or Powell, rather than with the expert Turney.
Not definable outsiders, but real candidates for the title are certainly also the Latvian Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy Corse), the Brazilian Gomez (Crg) and the Italian Coluccio (OTK), also like Turney at the top of the category for years while the fast Eliska Babickova (Forza Racing), Italian Champion just one week ago right here in Franciacorta, also deserved special attention.

In OKJ the fight is no less uncertain, with a large number of title contenders including the European Champion Bondarev (KR – Prema), his closest rival in the continental championship the Belgian Thibaut Ramaekers (KR – VDK) without forgetting the Swedes Kaczynski and Lindblom, the Englishman Lewis Wherrell and the Italian Martinese, looking for a coup in the home World Cup. Also competing for a place on the podium are Zac Drummond (GBR), Jack Illife (USA), Taym Saleh (GER), Niklas Schaufler (AUT), Kirill Dzitiev, Stepan Antonov, Sebastian Lehtimäki (FIN), David Cosma Cristofor (ROU ), Alp Aksoy (TUR) and many others in a list of possible protagonists almost as long as in OK.

The Franciacorta entry list of OK-N and OKJ-N Road to the 1st World Cup, with a limited number, sees at the start, as hoped by ACI Sport, an entry list made up of the best drivers classified in the Italian ACI Karting Championship, WSK Euro Series first round, and Coppa Italia of the area. Standing out among these is the presence of the Italian Champion, in the OK-N Junior Gino Rocchio (DR) and Bruno Gryc (MLG Racing) who finished equal on points in the leadership, and in the OK-N that of the Italian champion Federico Albanese (Italcorse) and Antonio Apicella (Team Driver) who challenged him for the Italian title until the end.
