Gunskirchen, Austria, May 24th, 2023 - The second event of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy is about to start.

Next weekend, the engines will be roaring in the French Val d'Argenton as part of the top-class racing series. 130 drivers will make their way to the challenging course 120km southeast of Nantes. The third and fourth scoring races are eagerly awaited, as they will ultimately be the mid-term decisions of this year's season for the European Rotax elite.

The 2023 racing year is in full swing for the RMC Euro Trophy. In Genk, Belgium, the starting signal was given for the new championship duels of the renowned series in mid-April. In good conditions, no less than eight Rotax categories took to the starting line and celebrated the first winners of the new season at the end. In Val d'Argenton, the Mini MAX, as well as the E20 classifications, are not part of the action. Nevertheless, it will be a hot time for the numerous participants on the 1,280-meter track in the battle for the next championship points.

In the Junior MAX, Mateja Radenkovic (Bouvin Power) heads into the race as the leader of the junior classification after a strong opening performance. Hungarian Armand Hamilton (Strawberry Racing), however, is in direct striking distance in second place and is therefore also regarded as one of the favorites in France. 59 drivers are entered in the Senior MAX class. Sean Butcher (KR Sport) has so far underlined his greatest ambitions. With a double victory in Genk, the Briton left his compatriot Mark Kimber (Strawberry Racing) behind and now also has big plans in Val d'Argenton.
In the DD2 field, Dutchman Martijn van Leeuwen (Schepers Racing) has set the pace so far. But David Aulejtner (Wyrzykowski Motorsport) is currently sitting in second place in the standings directly behind him and will also give everything at the second event to close the gap to the championship leader. The front-runners in the DD2 Masters are also close together. Denis Thum (Kraft Motorsport) from Germany held his ground ahead of Michael Becker among the veterans and is considered an ambitious driver for races three and four of the year.

As usual, preparation for the RMC Euro Trophy starts early for the drivers. In the free practice sessions on Wednesday and Thursday, the aim is to prepare as well as possible for the upcoming timed practice sessions, heats and final races. These can be followed both via live timing and on the live stream at www.rotaxmaxchallenge-eurotrophy.com. In addition, the Rotax Global App is also available for smartphone users (free download from the App Store or Google Play).
