RMC TURKEY 2023 GETS THE SEASON OFF AND RUNNING AT KORFEZ CIRCUIT

The initial round of the Rotax MAX Challenge Turkey has got the season underway over the weekend of April 29-30 at the Korfez Karting Track in Kocaeli. A total of 72 drivers entered the opening edition of the series in five Rotax categories.

In Turkey, the National Championship is run according to the rules of the local ASN with Rotax engines and the RMC forms part of this series. Therefore, the drivers who are competing within the current event regulations are counted in the RMC ranking. The rain played a very important role in qualifying heats in Saturday. The second day was full shining sun and warmer.

The biggest competition was in the Mini MAX category where the winner would get the RMC Grand Finals ticket for Bahrain. Ruzgar Evci won the race in front of Atlas Tiryakioglu finishing 2nd and Erin Unludogan 3rd.

In Micro MAX, Doruk Sirnac from Antalya won the race. Guido Ebergrnyi from the UAE finished 2nd and Nihat Karadeniz 3rd.

Hakki Dorum won the Junior MAX. Yagiz Teksan and Ayse Cebi finished 2nd and 3rd.

There was very intense competition in the Senior MAX category. The six-time Turkish champion Gun Tasdelen won the opening round ahead of last year’s champion Kerim Sulyak. Can Benli completed the podium.

The final result in the Masters class was an unexpected one, which went in favour of Can Ozdogan finished taking the victory from Murathan Gur 2nd and Baris Karadeniz 3rd.

The second round of RMC Turkey will be held at Tuzla Karting Park on June 24 and 25.
