RMCGF in Portimão, Party time?

The season finale has featured the spectacular event by Rotax for 23 years now. The stage for the world's most famous and copied format is well and truly set and ready in Portimao. Already this weekend several initiatives are planned such as the emblematic photo with the karts of the brands involved in this event lined up along the straight of the Portuguese track (BirelART (Rotax Micro MAX, Rotax DD2), IPKarting (Rotax Mini MAX, Rotax DD2 Masters) and Sodikart (Rotax Junior MAX, Rotax Senior MAX, Rotax E20 Junior, Rotax E20 Senior), and the nearly 400 participating drivers representing more than 60 nations, plus the members of the organization, staff, and entourage including the specialized and non-specialized press. In short, a good number of people affected by this positive fever, here to live an unforgettable experience.

An event that succeeds in satisfying pretty much everyone as it gives importance to the only protagonist on which this motor discipline rests its historical prerogatives: the kart drivers, the real ones and who only on this occasion can literally take the stage, show off before the world, transforming him/herself from an emeritus unknown to the character - or driver, rather - of the year, winner of the only international Trophy dedicated to them. The Trophy that is also coveted by much-acclaimed champions of other lofty competitions, FIA Karting included, and who at the same time risk coming out, however, downsized. Let us remember that there are several champions who began their careers in this category: Max Verstappen, George Russell, Nicholas Latifi, Lance Stroll, Jüri Vips...

This is the fourth time the RMCGF has been held at the Kartódromo Internacional do Algarve (previously 2012, 2015, and 2017). The Portimão track, as it is known, is one of the longest in Europe, stretches 1.6 km of up and downs, and offers ample opportunities for overtaking not to mention the slipstream that becomes decisive in these categories.
