Press Release by:
Anatoly Khavalkin put the finishing touches to the 2022 FIA Karting season at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli, thanks to a World Championship as an absolute protagonist.

The Parolin Racing driver took to the heights the new title of European Champion obtained a few months ago in Italy, thanks above all to yet another weekend at the top of the overall standings. The end of the weekend at Sarno, unfortunately, did not reflect what Anatoly demonstrated in all the sessions prior to the final.

During qualifying, in fact, Khavalkin started his weekend with pole position in Group C and the third best time overall despite the difficult conditions of the circuit, which was completely wet from the heavy rain on Friday. In Sunday's Super Heat heats, Anatoly then demonstrated as usual a great spirit of adaptation and lucidity that allowed him to bring home three wins, two seconds and a third place, and victory in Sunday morning's Super Heat, valid for overall pole position in the OKJ World Championship.

A smooth and consistent race pace and weekend conduct, without any hiccups or mistakes that would have led to surrendering positions. The OKJ final, however, was not easy to read for any of the drivers present. There was a lot of tussle given what was at stake and many twists and turns. Anatoly did his best, leading the race authoritatively in the early laps, only to be forced to concede something to his rivals. The 5sec penalty for the front spoiler then denied the Parolin driver his position under the chequered flag, relegating him to eleventh place.

A result that did not satisfy the driver and did not reflect the real potential put in place by Khavalkin and his team throughout the World Championship. However, great consistency and great speed were confirmed once again.

A.Khavalkin: "It is a shame to have ended the World Championship final like this. I started from pole position and of course we were in a position to fight, but that is racing. I want to thank Parolin and GFR enormously for their great work, everything was perfect! I obviously thank Marco Parolin, Carmine my mechanic, my coach Felice Tiene, everyone who supports my season and my family".
