RMC Euro Trophy heralds season finale in Wackersdorf

Gunskirchen/Wackersdorf September 13th, 2022 – This weekend, things will get serious at the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy. In Wackersdorf, Bavaria, the international championship is looking forward to its last two races of the 2022 season. The state-of-the-art Prokart Raceland with its 1,197-meter track length ensures optimal conditions and already promises a lot of excitement in the duel for the last points in the championship classifications. A total of nine tickets for participation in the RMC Grand Finals in Portugal are still available.

The final of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy sees more than 110 drivers from all over Europe registered for the last round of this year's season. The event in Bavaria will be the fourth stop on the racing calendar. After the kick-off in Genk, Belgium, the top class racing circus moved on to the French Val d'Argenton. The start of the second half of the season then took place in Belgium again. On the traditional track in Mariembourg, the first championship winners were already decided after the classification rounds five and six. Boaz Maximov (Mini MAX), Ethan Jeff-Hall (Junior MAX), Thijs Stevens (Project E20 Junior) and Luca Koester (Project E20 Senior) have already been confirmed as the new title winners and Rotax Grand Finals participants in 2022.

After the Rotax Project E20 categories and the Mini MAX class have already celebrated their end to the season, the racing action at Prokart Raceland now has four classes on the race program this week. Scott Marsh (Dan Holland Racing) is currently leading the way in the fight for the vice champion’s title in the Junior MAX. The British driver starts the event as second in the standings and is four points ahead of the Dutch driver Tommie van der Struijs.

Sean Butcher (KR Sport) leads the Senior MAX class with a respectable points gap over rookie Kai Rillaerts (JJ Racing).  Butcher has already recorded four race wins this year and is therefore also considered a favorite to win in Wackersdorf. Kai Hunter (Dan Holland Racing) should not be forgotten in the title race. The British driver has already proven his skills several times and will start in Wackersdorf as third in the championship with great ambitions.

In the DD2, one driver was able to establish himself at the front of the field during the course of the season. Mark Kimber (Strawberry Racing) is at full throttle as the leader of the table ahead of the brothers duo of Petr and Jakub Bezl (both KSCA Sodi Europe) who rank second and third respectively in the overall standings. Denis Thum (Kraft Motorsport) from Germany initially led the DD2 Masters from the opening races and has performed well throughout. However, Lithuania’s Martynas Tankevicius (Lenktyniu Linija) is still within striking distance. He’s running P2 in the standings after two successful rounds and will give it his all again at the season finale. The German driver Michael Becker completes the leading trio in the series.

For the most successful drivers of the four Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy classes, the great prizes await them. Tickets for participation in the RMC Grand Finals in Portimao, Portugal, will be awarded to the top three finishers in the Junior and Senior MAX field. In the DD2 category, the winner and the runner-up go for the big event and are additionally accompanied by the leader of the DD2 Masters.

For those who cannot be trackside for the event in Germany, the final of the RMC Euro Trophy promises a lot of excitement that’s not to be missed.
