The Frenchman brand new F3 Champion has a less common background than most of the modern “racing kids”. But in his palmares he still boasts a Karting World Championship, in 2016
Scrolling through the final standings of the first OKJ World Championship held in Bahrain at the end of 2016, you will find in 6th place Oscar Piastri, the ‘object of desire’ of two Formula 1 Top Teams throughout the summer of 2022 and rookie to be on Mclaren. in third place Théo Pourchaire, the youngest ever winner of a Formula 2 Monaco GP at just 17 years of age, currently a bit in crisis of results (but that's another story) but considered by most of the professionals in motorsport one of the greatest talents in circulation and candidate F1 next star. The winner of that competition was a boy a little older than the average for the Junior (he was 15), but who up to three years earlier practiced gymnastics as his first sport and also well, so much so that he was French Champion of the specialty and who had never yet sat on a go -kart: Victor Martins. We all know that there is not only talent at the basis of a driver's success and his climb to the top of Motorsport, but we love to greet a champion of an important category like Formula 3 who started in karting at 13 years of age, as we are convinced that the choice to compete in karting today is imposed too soon and that this is at the base of many anomalies that afflict our sport today.
