The Rotax Max Challenge Grand Festival 2022 for the Micro MAX and Mini MAX classes has been rescheduled one week earlier to August 20-21 and will now take place at the famous Erftlandring circuit at Kerpen in Germany – with two RMC Grand Finals tickets to be won.
With a number of national and regional Rotax series’ sharing the same weekend on the season calendar at the end of the summer holiday break, the organiser and promoter of the RMC Grand Festival Chrono Karting has made the decision to reschedule the popular event for the young Micro MAX and Mini MAX competitors. The host venue will also change to coincide with a double round of the national Dutch RMC series at the historic Erftlandring track at Kerpen, well-known for being the home circuit of Germany’s Formula One champions Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel, as well as Ralf Schumacher, Heinz-Harald Frentzen and Nick Heidfeld. We cannot forget the many motorsport heroes who have raced there, including Ayrton Senna, Christian Fittipaldi, Mika Häkkinen, Allan McNish and numerous past and present karting superstars over the years.
This special event is definitely one not to be missed for the youngsters dreaming to be on the grid at the impressive Algarve circuit this November when the Rotax MAX Challenge Grand Finals takes place in Portugal with nearly 400 qualified drivers racing for the 2022 Rotax titles. The eligible RMC Grand Festival champions from the finals Sunday afternoon in each of the two Micro MAX and Mini MAX classes will be on their way to Portimao when they win their RMCGF ticket at Kerpen.
The program on August 20-21, 2022 includes registration, scrutineering and free practice Saturday with drivers’ briefing, qualifying and racing Sunday. Free practice is also possible Friday, August 19.
“How proud I was when BRP-Rotax asked me to organise the Rotax Grand Festival for Micro MAX and Mini MAX a few years ago, but unfortunately the Covid pandemic forced us to have to cancel the last two years,” says Gaby van de Burgt, Chrono Karting. “Now, we have to announce the rescheduling of this great event because of other national and regional events within the Rotax community taking place on the same date. This would not make the RMC Grand Festival complete if we did not give these drivers the opportunity to be part of it too. I can only say that we are very excited to welcome all the young Rotax competitors to join us for the weekend together in Kerpen.”
Registration is still open to be part of this fun experience for the youngest Rotax racing drivers!
