Before the summer break, time for the WSK Euro Series with the first of the two rounds. Victory for Palomba in KZ2 ahead of Iglesias and Gustavsson. In the other categories, successes for Ivannikov (60 Mini), Przyrowski (OKJ) and Nakamura (OK).
KZ2 - What a clash between Birel Art and CRG
Although on a different track and in different conditions, KZ2 completed one of the last general tests before the World Championship at Le Mans in September. A more than positive weekend for the CRG army, practically at full strength and led by Jeremy Iglesias. The French driver showed, as always, to be firmly in the top group, improving step by step the technical package of the "All Blacks", especially in view of the World Championship at home. In the final, however, it was a good Giuseppe Palomba who kept the point right on Iglesias by recovering from an unhappy qualifying in all three heats yesterday, up to today's pre-final and final. The Campania driver made the most of the start from the front row to surprise Iglesias and then keep him close behind. A good sign also for the Birel Art driver, followed by the younger ones who have moved from the Senior to the queen class, such as Cristian Bertuca, best of the rookies in ninth place starting from the back.
Podium completed by the other CRG of Viktor Gustavsson, also as solid and promising as Iglesias, followed by Alex Irlando and Jorge Pescador, four CRG chassis in the first five positions. Appointment at Sarno in a few weeks with the last act of the WSK Euro Series and the last round before Le Mans.
In OKJ it is still Jan Przyrowski who dominates the scene after his victory seven days ago at Franciacorta. The Pole dominated his own final from pole position, finishing ahead of Renè Lammers, back in the top ranks, and William Go with four positions recovered. Sambdula and Molnar concluded the top five.
The Senior final, on the other hand, rewarded the new European Champion, Kean Nakamura-Berta, who returned to the victory he had been missing for the whole FIA Karting season. Also for the Japanese driver pole position and victory without leaving room for rivals such as Joel Bergstrom and Cui Yanpu in second and third place, Stolcermanis and Deligny just behind.
Closing the programme for the 60 Mini with a new "star" namely Vladimir Ivannikov, absolute protagonist and always in the lead during the laps of the final. Dean Hoongendoorn and Iacopo Martinese, respective silver and bronze medallists.
