The second round of the Champions Of The Future Euro Series opens with the pole positions of Nathan Tye (OKJ) and Alex Powell (OK), the fastest in Zuera.
Not even time to recover from the first race of the 2022 European Championship for the OK and OKJ protagonists, already on track thinking about the second round in Zuera. A second appointment which, as usual, is experiencing this weekend its preliminary race promoted by RGMMC.
OK - Powell starts from the first position
The attack on time in the early afternoon saw the Jamaican and Mercedes driver excel over his rivals. Absolute pole position in 1.00.536, one tenth faster than the first opponent Kean Nakamura-Berta, still competitive and on pole in Group B. Another Mercedes face in third, represented by the Chinese Yuanpu Cui, also on pole like his partner Powell but for Group C. The last three first positions of the group were assigned to David Walther, Luigi Coluccio and Joe Turney, respectively for groups D, E and F.
OKJ - Tye returns again
If in Portimao he had earned the name of "first of the normals" behind Matveev and Khavalkin, the rising star of the house Sodikart responds present in Zuera marking the pole. Best time of 1.02.215, practically perfect along the winding curves of Zuera. Positive note of the Energy weekend, for now represented by Jules Caranta, in great form after the previous weekend at two tenths from his rival and pole man of Group B. In his favourite hunting ground, Maciej Gladysz also returned to the top ranks with the third fastest time overall and the group record. Last group poles for three surprise names, led by Miguel Costa (group D), Jindrich Pesl (group E) and Lenn Nijs (group F).
First heats scheduled this afternoon, full programme coming tomorrow Saturday 15th April.
