Anatoly Khavalkin won the fourth round of the WSK Super Master Series 2022 on the Circuito Internazionale Napoli. Fourth place in the Championship classification.
A Sunday to remember for the Russian driver of the Parolin team, on the highest step of the podium in the OKJ category. The success at Sarno comes at the fifth race of the season after having come close to a noteworthy result several times, built and wanted thanks to the great competitiveness shown and to the work done with his team.
As early as Friday's qualifying session, Anatoly had made a positive start, setting the fifth fastest time overall and taking pole position for Group E (55.667 best lap). The excellent qualifying position proved, as always, decisive for the rest of the weekend and especially for the great fight in the four heats available.
Khavalkin held the first position well, making the most of it and collecting a win, a second and a third place with the only exception of the tenth position in the second heat, after a race contact in the early stages. The Pre-final on Sunday morning also proved very positive for Khavalkin, who managed to finish in third place, just as he started.
With the sum of points from the heats and the Pre-final, Anatoly was able to start the Junior final in fifth position and aim for victory. After the first stages of the OKJ final, Khavalkin kept his concentration without making mistakes, recovering positions. On lap 11 he then took the lead and won shortly afterwards under the chequered flag.
A. Khavalkin: "I can only be happy with this result, together with the team we have worked hard to achieve it and in this first race we came close many times. I want to say a huge thank you to my mechanic, to GFR, to Felice Tiene and obviously to all Parolin and my family!"
