In the last Super Master Series weekend at Sarno, pole position assigned to Laurens Van Hoepen (KZ2), Alex Powell (OK), Dmitry Matveev (OKJ) and Jindrich Pesl (60 Mini).
It is showdown time at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli of Sarno for the Super Master Series. The last round on Sunday will award the first international trophies of the season.
KZ2 - Van Hoepen the fastest
Under the sun of Sarno, the queen class is back in the spotlight with a rather tight qualifying session. It was Laurens Van Hoepen (Lennox Racing) who took pole position in 53.194. A close fight with Danilo Albanese, in second place overall and leader of Group B. Last two group poles attributed to Pedro Hiltbrand with the best of Birel Art and Tom Leuillet again for Lennox Racing. In the first two heats, the Sodi vs Birel Art duel seems to be renewed, with a win for Van Walstijn and one for the host Giuseppe Palomba.
OK - Powell in great shape
Although months ahead of schedule, the weekend at Sarno was the first "test" of the World Championship. Five pole positions for the five groupings, starting from the Mercedes home talent, Alex Powell (53.349), able to keep behind Kean Nakamura-Berta, on the podium at La Conca, third time for Oscar Pedersen among the best outsiders. Slater and Turney with the fourth and fifth time will be the forerunners of groups D and E.
OKJ - Matveev leads the Juniors
It is again the Russian talent to snatch the Friday titles, proving more and more among the contenders for a "place in the sun" when it comes to FIA Karting races. 55.497 the best time recorded by Matveev, behind him Oleksandr Bondarev (winner seven days ago), Elliot Kaczynski, Lucas Fluxa Cross and Anatoly Khavalkin, all leaders of groups from letter B to E.
60 Mini - Pesl to dominate
Jindrich Pesl is still the leader of 60 Mini, as of Friday. A race towards the success for the driver of the Czech Republic that seems to proceed fast, starting from the best lap recorded in 1.02.717. Virtual top three completed by Filippo Sala and Jack Iliffe. Other three group pole positions for Kilian Josseron, Iacomo Martinese and Alessandro Truchot.
Heat programme already started and scheduled for all day tomorrow.
