With the announcement by the F1 World Champion team, karting is linking up even more with the Academy. Luna Fluxa is the new face of Mercedes.
Directly on the official channels of the team, Mercedes has made official the final composition of the Junior Programme 2022 including also the interesting Spanish pink quota. In the Iberian and international paddock, the name Fluxa is certainly not new, especially in the first positions of the line-up. The youngest of the siblings on the track, Luna, has already proved she can be one of the most interesting names in the 60 Mini and OKJ categories (first race in this category only a few weeks ago at Lonato).
The Majorcan driver has been often talked about for her consistency and sporting intelligence when it came to fighting for success, recently bringing home the Iame Euro Series. Qualities and speed that have certainly not gone unnoticed by the German team, which is very active in karting for the growth and support of young talents.
Pure emotion that Luna is feeling and will feel in this period, fresh and full of novelties also in Formula 1 where she will probably attend the launch of the new car and meet Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. A Formula 1 that once again moves closer to karting, drawing from the minor classes for the future, as it should always be.
Luna Fluxa will therefore be the only female representative of the Junior programme, thus answering to the names already present in the Ferrari Driver Academy with Maya Weug as "captain" and already involved last year in F4.
Fluxa will join the names already present in the Mercedes Academy starting with Paul Aron in F.Regional, Andrea Kimi Antonelli for F4, Daniel Guinchard in British F4 and Frederik Vesti in F2. Represented for karting, Alex Powell (OK) and Yuanpu Cui (OKJ).
