The Rotax Max Winter Trophy has issued its verdicts by assigning the first passes for the Rotax Grand Final in Portimao, including the former F1 driver Antonio Pizzonia.

The Rotax Winter Trophy competition has held its own in this first part of the year with four hard-fought rounds for all present, in the name of the competition for the most important prize: the conquest of the first pass for the RMCGF 2022.

In the Master Max category it was an all-Brazilian clash between former Formula 1 drivers thanks to the presence of Antonio Pizzonia and Rubens Barrichello. Both of them battled from the first to the last race. With the success obtained in the very last final on the program, it was the 40 year old Pizzonia who overtook his compatriot in the general standings, winning the Master Max and securing himself a post at Portimao in November.

Pizzonia will join the Brazil team bringing with him the great experience gained over time between single-seaters, covered wheels, endurance and karting. Three seasons in F1 for the Amazonian driver divided between Jaguar (2003) and Williams (2004-2005).

Among the other qualifiers also Rubens Barrichello's son, Eduardo, in the Senior Max. Jorge Ortiz (Junior Max), Salvador Della Vecchia (Mini Max) and Julian Rivera (Mini Max) were also winners.
