The Slovenian driver took part in the OK World Championship, struggling with some factors that did not allow him to express himself at his best, but gathering more experience.
A World Championship in the highest category is definitely not an easy task to face, especially with the high level of the FIA Karting competitions. However, Mark Kastelic did his best to keep up with the leaders, managing to improve himself and gaining other important experience for the future.
Mark's World Championship was at risk until the qualifying session due to some physical problems that the Slovenian driver had to manage in the previous days. Despite not being 100% fit, Mark still took part in the qualifying session and managed to qualify in seventh position for group C. From that position, Mark tried his best to gain positions, but he had to deal with the track conditions and especially with some problems with the tires. P15 and a P16 in the first two heats, two P24 in the last two heats did not allow Mark to qualify for the final. A result that obviously does not satisfy the Slovenian driver of the Forza Racing team and that does not reflect the real potential that Kastelic himself will try to bring out again in the next races.
M.Kastelic: "It wasn't the World Championship I wanted. After some physical problems I was ready to fight but other problems did not allow us to gain the necessary positions. Anyway I want to thank my team Forza Racing, the new World Champion and above all my family present on the track".
