Kai Sorensen completes his first World Championship in a convincing way

Press Release by:
The American driver of the Forza Racing team concludes his experience on the Spanish track with a top ten finish in his category.

The weekend in Campillos wasn't easy for all the drivers involved in the World Championship. Weather conditions very different from the previous week and inevitably high values. Kai Sorensen has been able to interpret the track in the best way, thanks also to the work with his mechanic and the whole Forza Racing team. The qualifying session of Friday had not been digested in an optimal way by Kai, too slowed down by the traffic on the track to be able to hope in the first positions of the group.

Seventh in Group D, Kai has then changed the face of his weekend with the start of the clashes. An immediately convincing start in the first heat on a wet track where he managed to recover up to the second position. A trend then maintained also in the other heats with a P5 and a P12 (+5sec pen), with the exception of the third heat where Kai was intent on recovering but was forced to retire. Two opponents made contact right in front of the American driver who could not avoid the collision. A heavy retirement that actually did not allow Sorensen to start where he deserved for the OKJ world final, but still allowed him to qualify.

In the last act of the FIA Karting season, still on a wet track, Kai gave his best by recovering thirteen positions compared to the start and finishing in P11 just a step away from the top ten in his category, despite a 5sec penalty for the position of the front nose under the chequered flag.

Kai: "It was my first World Championship and I'm very happy with this experience. Unfortunately, qualifying and the third heat didn't allow us to get much more ours was definitely a great potential. Thank you very much to Jamie, my mechanic and all Forza Racing for the work, GFR for the engines and of course my family and friends. Congratulations to my team and to Kean for winning the Championship!".
