Good debut in the OK category for Mark Kastelic

Press Release by:
Mark Kastelic completed his first weekend in the OK Senior category with good results.

The Slovenian driver completed the first round of the WSK Open Cup in the new category but always with the Forza Racing team, which gave him this great opportunity. Mark did not disappoint the expectations, learning a lot and showing that he can already fight in the best positions of the category, battling with the most experienced drivers.

Kastelic had already set excellent lap times in free practice and qualifying, which were confirmed by fifth place in Group C (46.424). This excellent starting position allowed the British team driver to concentrate on the heats.

The weekend was constantly threatened by rain, which was not easy for the drivers to interpret. At the end of the three available heats, Mark then scored two sixths and a tenth place, valid for the eleventh place overall and sixth on the grid for Sunday's Prefinal A.

The slippery asphalt and low temperatures did not help the riders to express themselves at their best during the pre-final, which ended with Mark's unfortunate retirement while he was in the leading positions. Bitter epilogue that, however, does not cancel a first weekend in the Senior category as a protagonist where Kastelic has certainly gained a lot of experience in view of the upcoming races, starting from Adria in a fortnight.
