The international kart exhibition IKA is moving to the Dortmund trade fair venue next year. It all started in 1993 on just 900 square metres. Today, the IKA is the world's largest Karting Expo, which will celebrate its Ruhr premiere on 15 and 16 January 2022.
The international karting exhibition has been a fixture in the calendar of renowned karting brands, track operators and karting and motorsport enthusiasts worldwide for almost 30 years. For its 29th edition, the world's largest Kartmesse has realigned itself and is opening its doors for the first time at Messe Dortmund.
Marcel Fuchsberger, fair organiser of the international karting exhibition, on the move to Dortmund: «The new location in the Ruhr region opens up completely new possibilities for us. We now have a significantly larger area of over 10,000 square metres. By comparison, in previous years we had up to 6,800 square metres at our disposal. The forced break due to Corona has now provided a perfect opportunity for a fresh start for the Kartmesse to come back next year more modern, bigger and more versatile.»
The big brands and renowned exhibitors will present innovations and trends for the Racing & Indoor and Racing sectors at the world's biggest Kartmesse. The topics of track planning and equipment will also be comprehensively integrated into the indoor area in Dortmund. Also represented are the "moderate" engines for the hobby and fun sector. The range of products on offer at the fair is rounded off by the large field of accessories: from drivers' suits to helmets and tools.
Motorsport enthusiasm in a bright ambience
«Among other things, Messe Dortmund convinced us with its bright and friendly ambience and the large ceiling height, so that entire vans in the hall can now be used as exhibition stands. At the same time, IKA can now move into one large hall for the first time and is no longer spread over several small halls. For visitors, this is clearer, shortens walking distances and makes the trade fair experience much more compact. And for the exhibitors, too, the Kartmesse will become even more attractive», explains Fuchsberger.
The signing of the contract in August 2021 heralded the start of IKA 2022 in Dortmund and a partnership and long-term cooperation. Planning for the January 2022 edition is already in full swing at trade fair organiser Fuchsberger and Messe Dortmund. «We are delighted to welcome the international karting exhibition to Dortmund from January. After all, Messe Dortmund itself can look back on a karting tradition – says Sabine Loos, General Manager of the Westfalenhallen Unternehmensgruppe GmbH – In particular, the reference to the optimal framework conditions and the light-flooded ambience shows us that the construction measures of recent years have contributed significantly to the further development of the location»
