This weekend brings the exciting deciding round of the Rotax MAX Challenge Euro Trophy back to the ever-popular Prokart Raceland circuit at Wackersdorf in Germany for the remaining champions to be crowned in the 2021 season. Once again without any spectators due to the current local government restrictions, but all the racing action is being streamed live across the entire weekend.
Prokart Raceland, Germany – Friday, September 3, 2021 - Round 4
Nearly 100 competitors and their teams have been able to travel to the RMCET in Bavaria. Race organiser and promoter, Camp Company, are pleased to ensure the event continues to conclude the final edition of the four round series, considering the championship was impacted last year by the Covid-19 situation, although, naturally missing the many supporters who always enjoy the intensely close racing at the last round – plus the prize-giving celebrations for the season winners. With the big tickets to the RMC Grand Finals 2021 in Bahrain still there for the taking, it’s shaping up to be a great weekend!
Four Rotax classes are being contested: Junior- and Senior MAX, DD2 and DD2 Masters, in addition to the second and final round of the Rotax Project E20 eKart Euro Series, where the event winner at Wackersdorf and the overall champion of the ‘Arrive & Drive’ electric karting series be awarded their personal invitation to compete at the Rotax Racing flagship event in December. The two titles already decided by the results at the previous round in Mülsen include the undeniable success of 2021 FIA World OK champ #1 Callum Bradshaw (GBR-Tony Kart-Strawberry Racing) in Senior MAX and dominant finals performance of the French champion Paul Louveau (Redspeed-DSS) in DD2 Masters, both of which were newcomers to the RMCET this year. In Junior MAX, defending champ Kai Rillaerts (BEL-Exprit-JJ Racing) leads the points going into round 4 and in DD2, Petr Bezel (CZE-Sodikart-KSCA Sodi Europe) heads the very experienced field, as he aims to claim the only championship title in his Rotax career that he has not yet won.
Friday’s qualifying has now set the pace for the heat races Saturday, as the battle begins towards vital grid positons for the all-important finals Sunday. The weather has been outstanding, sunny with blue skies and not a cloud to be seen… something unusual for the European racing this season. Follow all the action from Wackersdorf on the livestream and get ready to see some of the best drivers in their class fight it out for a place on the podium once more at the RMC Euro Trophy.
