DKM, German Kart Championship is all set for a big weekend at ProKart Raceland

- Races
The second round of the DKM is on track for a full grid of competition at the impressive Wackersdorf circuit this weekend. More than 180 drivers from around 20 countries have turned out to contest what is considered the premier German kart racing series (J.W.)

After a successful start to the 2021 season at the famous Kerpen venue, the championship moves into the next edition of five in total and promises to deliver some excellent competition in Bavaria. Running in compliance with an extensive security- and hygiene-concept, series coordinator Stefan Wagner confirms the health of the competitors remains their priority, “We're aware of our responsibility and want to provide our participants, as well as their teams and their support crews, with a secure environment”.

Leading the way after their victory at the opening round, Niels Tröger (DKM), Akshay Bohra (DJKM), Senna van Walstijn (DSKM) and Jakob Bergmeister (DSKC) are at the top of the list of favourites in the OK, OKJ, KZ2 and KZ2 Cup fields. However, the list is long and the line-up is likely to ensure it will be another action-packed event.

In addition, it is the season kick-off to the German Electric Kart Championship (DEKM). With limited registration in this class, 14 drivers from twelve nations are entered in the innovative full electric series with the Rotax Project E20 kart. Last year's Champion Luca Wloemer makes a guest appearance together with Israel’s Ben Pinto, while Jasmin Stein from Germany and American Ellis Spiezia are also back for another shot at the title in the DEKM. There are some familiar names joining the grid from various categories, so we are anticipating some close racing.

Following the first official day of free practice Friday, things get serious on Saturday with qualifying and heats to determine the starting positions for the finals on Sunday.
