A weekend of work for Kai Sorensen at Genk

The competition organised by RGMMC ahead of the start of the FIA European Championship brought Kai Sorensen to get to know the Genk circuit in Belgium for the first time, a very technical and fast track which put Kai, who was very competitive in his first approach to this track, to the test. 

In the qualifying session, Sorensen had obtained a good fifth place in the group in 54.489, an excellent starting position for the usual five heats of the Junior category. As the weekend progressed, Sorensen was able to concentrate on his race pace, achieving two seventh places, two fifth places and a fourth place. 



On the last day of racing, Kai unfortunately struggled in the pre-final and was involved in race contacts, finishing in P26 after a penalty. Also the OKJ final did not smile on Sorensen, who was forced to finish at the back of the field (P31 with a 5sec penalty).

Apart from the result, Sorensen has been preparing himself at his best before his absolute debut in the OKJ European Championship next week on the now unfamiliar Genk circuit.
