Mark Kastelic affected by weather on Sunday in Lonato

Press Release by:
Mark Kastelic proved to be very combative during the recent weekend, a race contact unfortunately caused his retirement in the pre-final.

Together with the DPK team, Mark Kastelic started the double weekend in Lonato in a competitive and combative manner, despite a bittersweet ending.

The Slovenian had greatly improved his qualifying with a fifth place in the group, useful in view of his heats. On a track which evolved session after session, Mark had racked up good performances except for two unfortunate retirements, with two twelfth and one tenth places.

Unfortunately, the two retirements affected Kastelic's overall classification, who was forced to start from the back for the first OKJ pre-final during the wet day on Sunday. The lots of water, however, did not frighten Kastelic, who was good and determined to recover as many positions as possible during the first laps, reaching the margins of the top ten. The difficult condition of the track unfortunately forced Mark to retire in the pre-final due to an accident. Not a happy prefinal but hopeful for the next race in two weeks!
